A call to halt LNG imports and embrace the path of renewable energy in the awareness campaign

An awreness campaign was organized in Satkhira with the call to move towards renewable energy by halting LNG imports. The campaign was jointly organized by Swadesh Satkhira, Clean, and BWGED on Saturday (February 8) at 10:00 AM at Shaheed Abdur Razzak Park. Participants in the campaign demanded that the reliance on LNG imports be reduced and investments be made in the development of renewable energy. They stated that the large amounts of money spent by the government on LNG imports are creating financial pressure on the people of the country and putting the environment at greater risk. LNG is not a long-term solution; rather, it is creating an expensive and dangerous dependency. Experts argue that burning LNG releases a significant amount of carbon dioxide and methane gases, which accelerate global warming and climate crises. Additionally, the prices of LNG in the global market are continuously fluctuating, which is causing the cost of electricity production in Bangladesh to rise...

Annual General Meeting of Setu Bandhan Gori Network in Satkhira

Acid survivors are not a burden to society Annual General Meeting of Setu Bandhan Gori Network in Satkhira. Acid survivors are no longer a burden to society; they are becoming self-reliant. These survivors are constantly overcoming the struggles of life and setting examples for others. They have integrated themselves into the mainstream of society, achieving financial independence. At this juncture, these individuals need all possible support. As people living in the mainstream of society, it is our moral responsibility to assist these survivors. The perpetrators who throw acid on others are animals, lacking the basic ethics that make us human. Only the acid victims can truly understand the pain they endure every day for the rest of their lives. It takes a complete lack of morality for someone to commit such a heinous act. We do not want any more acid attack incidents to occur. Acid-affected women, men, and children have now stood up for themselves. This was the key message at the Annu...
