A call to halt LNG imports and embrace the path of renewable energy in the awareness campaign

  An awreness campaign was organized in Satkhira with the call to move towards renewable energy by halting LNG imports. The campaign was jointly organized by Swadesh Satkhira, Clean, and BWGED on Saturday (February 8) at 10:00 AM at Shaheed Abdur Razzak Park. Participants in the campaign demanded that the reliance on LNG imports be reduced and investments be made in the development of renewable energy. They stated that the large amounts of money spent by the government on LNG imports are creating financial pressure on the people of the country and putting the environment at greater risk. LNG is not a long-term solution; rather, it is creating an expensive and dangerous dependency. At this juncture, these individuals need all possible support. As people living in the mainstream of society, it is our moral responsibility to assist these survivors. The perpetrators who throw acid on others are animals, lacking the basic ethics that make us human.
